Children of the parish have the option of attending a nearby Catholic elementary school. The parish also provides with the weekly PREP program for all parish children from grades Kindergarten through Grade 6. PREP (formally called CCD) stands for Parish Religious Education Program, and this religious education program meets every Wednesday night from 6 PM until 7:15 PM in the Education Building (school) at 418 Jefferson Avenue. The program begins mid-September and concludes mid-May every year.
The PREP program is under the leadership of Sr. Mary Donald, O.SS.T., who is assisted by other Holy Trinity Sisters and dedicated lay staff. The purpose of the program is to share the Catholic faith with the young people of the parish and to provide prayer opportunities during the holy seasons of the church year. Families are encouraged to connect what is learned in the classroom with what is celebrated in the parish church every weekend at liturgy by active and regular participation at mass.
Families who are interested in registering their child/ren in our PREP program should call Sr. Mary Donald, O.SS.T. at 215.788.2030 for more details. Children need to be enrolled in the PREP program for three years before receiving each of the sacraments. First Eucharist is usually celebrated in May of the third grade (in PREP grades 1, 2 and 3); confirmation is celebrated sometime during the 6th grade depending on the schedule of the Bishops (minimally enrolled in classes after first communion for grades 4, 5, and 6).
